In October 2022, a green roof was constructed in the Plant area of EcoRich, embodying the concept of ecological cycling. The installation includes an aquaponics system, combining landscaping, environmental protection, and aquaculture technologies. Seasonal vegetables and fruits are grown, promoting a low-carbon lifestyle and creating a mutually beneficial ecological cycling system.
The Achievements in Green Energy
Solar Power Generation
The factory area is equipped with 90 solar panels, which partially shade the building, harnessing solar power generation with an output of approximately 30.6 kW per hour.
In 2022, green energy accounted for 12% of the total electricity consumption, equivalent to a reduction of 3,142 kgCO2e in carbon emissions.
The goal is to achieve a 20% share of green energy by 2025 and reach 30% by 2030.
Rainwater Harvesting
The factory roof is equipped with a rainwater harvesting system, which collects rainwater from the roof, channels it through a physical filtration process to remove impurities, and stores it in rainwater storage tanks.
In 2022, a total of 45 cubic meters of water resources were recycled, accounting for 18% of the factory’s water usage during the same period. The goal is to reduce per capita water consumption by 5% in 2025 and 10% in 2030.
Warehouse and Shipping Low Carbon Management
Recycling of Original Manufacturer’s Pallets
Since the end of March 2020, except for specific requirements, we have adopted the use of original manufacturer’s compressed pallets for shipping, reducing resource waste. As of 2022, a total of 376 pallets have been reused, saving a cumulative material cost of NTD 188,000 yuan.
Electric forklift replaces diesel forklift
Since 2000, we have adopted electric stackers and installed charging facilities, resulting in an annual reduction of approximately 4,000 liters of diesel consumption. By the end of 2022, this initiative has cumulatively decreased carbon emissions by around 32 metric tons.
